Confidentiality
Below is
one article relating to the issue of confidentiality and my "privacy
notice" with a few introductory comments. The first article
is an overview of the importance of confidentiality in therapy and some
of the history of legal and corporate intrusions into this arena, once
the domain of doctors and their patients. The "privacy
notice" required for "covered entities" under the federal law, HIPAA.
Though I am not a covered entity under HIPAA by virtue of the
fact that I choose not to do any "electronic transactions" as defined
by HIPAA, I have created a "privacy notice" paralleling HIPAA's
requirements.
